Pitch

Synopsis of the feature film

Jad is a 30-year-old Lebanese man who has been living in Paris for three years. After arriving in Paris, Jad became asocial and preferred to spend most of his time alone, as the pressures and challenges of being an expat led him to feel this way. Jad works in a restaurant in Paris to make ends meet. During his work, Jad is under a lot of pressure and is exploited by a female employee, which increases his psychological suffering, as he is unable to express himself and defend his rights due to his lack of command of the French language. This increases his sense of loneliness and alienation. To overcome his loneliness, Jad decides to use his mother's old camera as a means of delving into his memories and communicating with the people he loves and prefers to spend his time with.

But when he decides to delve into his memories, he encounters many difficulties in remembering, due to the difficult events that occurred in his past and whose impact remains with him to this day. Jad realises that these memories are the cause of his unhappiness and that, in order to live a normal life, he has to come to terms with them. He turns to the photo album he used to keep, which contains images from his past. These photos help him to recall some of his memories. However, Gad is unable to recall them completely due to memory deterioration and loss of detail with time and trauma. He decides to use artificial intelligence (AI) to help him retrieve these memories. He describes to the artificial intelligence (AI) what he remembers of the incident. The AI begins to compose scenes, which greatly helps him to recall the details of the traumatic memory. However, even though he has accepted these memories, they remain anchored in his memory and reappear every birthday.
